The brief flurry we saw in early November faded away over the course of the month. Early December looks much like last year also. Just more of the same.
Even though 2007 looks like it will be about 6-8% stronger than 2006, it has been a tough two years for sellers. Our market averaged 110 single family homes sold and settled in those two years. This compares to an average of 178 from 1998 through 2005, an eight year period that also experienced two soft years (in ’01 and ’03). In other words, sales are down almost 40% from the previous eight year average. How much longer can that last? More on this in the new year.
