With a growth rate of nearly 7 percent, Sussex was the fastest growing county in Delaware from 2010-2014 and would have been the fastest in Maryland if not for Howard's 7.7 percent increase.

Miniscule taxes, close to the beach, less traffic, a better economic climate, a chance to start living where they plan to retire.

Bob and Mary Stone can tick off several reasons for moving last September from their suburb north of Baltimore to the subtropical-by-comparison atmosphere of Rehoboth Beach. It was the right move personally and professionally, they say.

"It was just really the opportunity career-wise," said Bob Stone, a sales manager for one of the area's biggest home builders.

Just a few weeks ago, I noted that buyer activity over President’s Weekend was the busiest I had experienced in quite some time.  Now that negotiations have had a chance to wrap up, strong February numbers reflect this activity.  As suspected, it was a very good month with 31 properties in the Bethany-Fenwick area going under contract.  This compares with 21 last year.   

New contracts on single-family homes were up 70%, from 10 in February of 2014 to 17 in 2015 and after a softer 2014 for condo/townhome sales, new contracts increased 27% from 11 last year to 14 this year.

We have not seen this amount of activity in the month of February since the market peaked in 2005.  At that time, 41 properties went under contract.  What is important to note is
