On December 15th, our group had the fortunate opportunity to meet Tim Strachan. 

We learned that in in 1993, as a soon-to-be-senior in high school, Tim "T" Strachan was nationally ranked among the top 5 high school football quarterbacks, alongside other notable names such as Peyton Manning.  Football meant everything to Tim and as he was looking forward to his senior year, he was being recruited by top colleges such as Penn State and University of Maryland. 

Just one week prior to pre-season football camp, Tim was vacationing in Bethany Beach and became paralyzed while diving into the ocean. Tim is still paralyzed today.

Bethany Prepares for Possible Gift of Founder’s House

The Town of Bethany Beach is getting a big gift just in time for the holiday season, but it’s a gift at least a few residents hope they’ll return, or at least relocate. Resident Christina Edgar and her family have offered to donate to the Town the historic Dinker Cottage, first built in the town around 1902 by one of its founding fathers, Pittsburgh businessman William A. Dinker.

The cottage is sometimes referred to as the “Dinker House” — a moniker shared by its 1904 replacement, which is still located at 99 First Street and was once nicknamed “The Oriole” for its original black-and-orange paint scheme.
