We are three months into the year and a look at the number of properties put under contract in the first quarter in Bethany Beach shows mixed results. While new contracts on single family homes have risen compared to each of the last two years, condo/townhome sales are down.
First Quarter New Contracts
As the chart illustrates, year-to-date, 22 single family homes have gone under contract. This is up 10% compared to the same time period in 2015. The median list price of homes under contract and total sales volume in dollars are down, reflecting a slow down in sales on the east side of Route 1 highway to-date. Condo/townhome first quarter sales are soft with 18% fewer properties put under contract in the first quarter compared to last year.
