Bethany Beach homeowners and businesses are just a few days away from discovering this year’s winner of the Bethany Beach Coastal Christmas Showdown!   The showdown is all about who has the most festive holiday decorations in Bethany Beach, and in this past month, homeowners and businesses have been working on their best display of Holiday lights and décor!  There is still time to take the trolley into town to view the beautiful holiday light displays in Downtown Bethany, and be sure to get your votes in by December 1st if you want your vote to count!  The winner is to be announced on Saturday December 2nd at the annual tree lighting by the band stand, in Downtown Bethany.

Also happening on Saturday December 2nd, is story time at the Bethany Nature Center from 10:30am to 12pm, pony rides on the beach from 11:30am until 1pm, a party with Santa, tractor train and trolley rides, and so much more! Additionally, the upcoming next three Saturdays will offer business incentives in town from 10am to 5pm.  Scheduled for Saturday December 9th, head over to the Bethany Nature Center from 10:30am until Noon for some outdoor fun with Alpacas, as well as caroling, gingerbread activities, and a museum tour will be held at the Dinker-Irvin Museum on Garfield Parkway from 11am to 1pm!

In South Bethany Beach, the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremoney will take place on Saturday December 2nd from 5-6pm, outside of the Town Hall, located at the end of Evergreen Road.  Those that are in attendance can count on live music, an array refreshments, and plenty of good cheer!

Holiday Events Near Bethany Beach, DE

Aside from the festivities in Bethany Beach, there is plenty of Holiday entertainment in surrounding areas.  Ocean City’s Winterfest of Lights is back again this year, and for the first time guests have the option to walk the many acres of display at Northside Park, or simply hop on the trolley.  In 2023, there will also be growth in new displays, configurations, and the Winterfest Entrance Pavilion.  Take a walking tour through thousands of sparkling holiday lights and many animated displays located along paved park paths.  Enjoy some hot cocoa, get your family photo with Santa, try a craft, and check out our gift shop.

The Yule-tide and Tree lighting at Evans Park in Millville is taking place on Saturday December 2nd.  Join the festivities, starting with the Holiday Artisan Craft Show inside the Community Center at 10am.  The outdoor activities begin at 3pm, such as s'mores and ornament making, music, food, hot chocolate, and a visit from the big man himself, Santa Claus!  And last but not least, the tree lighting ceremony at 5:30pm.

Heading North into Rehoboth Beach, you can bet on having a great outing at Schellville!  The magical wonderland put on by Schell Brothers has been a holiday hot spot for the past few years, and just keeps growing.  With local vendors, food trucks, ice skating, slides, a Christmas maze and more, there is no shortage of fun no matter your age!  Registration is free, and for those that are looking to avoid staying out past dark, early-bird hours are available from 1-4pm.
