A Message from Dickens Parlour Theatre:

Dickens and Good Earth Market

Dear Friends,
In contemplating our tenth anniversary year in 2020, we anticipated that January would be dark. We had no reason to believe we would be shuttered for what amounted to most of the remainder of 2020, as well. When it became apparent that productions of any kind would be hopeless, Susan, Cheryl, Jay, and I sat down to discuss the best way to utilize our enforced respite.

Enter the Good Earth Market.
Located about a mile west of us on Route 26, the
Good Earth Market, which began operations at about the same time as we did, has, for the past decade, been not only one of my favorite food purveyors in the world (Sue Bloch casts a concurring vote on that), but also one of the best restaurants on the shore.

In discussions with Susan Ryan, the founder and proprietor, we quickly discovered a format for what we both believe will be an extraordinary joint effort:

On behalf of both of our enterprises and our employees, we are delighted to announce:
The Dickens Parlour Dinner Theatre

The following will, I hope, respond to a variety of your questions.

If all goes well, we will present a grand opening sometime in Summer 2021.

The new theatre, complete with spacious seating, state-of-the-art lighting,
heating and ventilation systems, will be located immediately next to the existing Good Earth Market on its campus. Parking will be plentiful and easily accessible. The theatre's own open-air patio will adjoin the Market's veranda, making way for presentations under the stars.

Early on, we concluded to use the "time off" to rehabilitate and rebuild our little
campus, including major work on the theatre itself. But after considering a wide range of designs and demands, we concluded that the lack of space, taken together with other restrictions, required an entirely new

All existing purchases of this nature will be honored in the new facility. In the
near future, hopefully before the end of the year,
we will be distributing a seating chart
for you to review and consider the available options.

The new Dickens Parlour Dinner Theatre will be larger, enabling us to present a wider range of entertainment offerings that will include not only the world-class magicians, but also choral and musical offerings,
lectures such as the "Inside Story" program sponsored by the Coastal Point. And, because of the unique cabaret setting we are planning, the facility will be available for functions such as Weddings, birthday parties, meetings, and informal gatherings.

Stay tuned for dates from us, including artist's renditions we think will excite you
as much as it will us. It is with a great deal of hope and joy that we say to you, our friends and supporters, See You Soon.
